The Solution Architect – Junior will support DB Systel’s Customer Experience CX unit. The role involves
designing, developing, and operating holistic solutions for travelers in collaboration with various
Deutsche Bahn (DB) business units. The focus is on enhancing the travel experience by strategically
developing digital products that balance customer needs and business requirements. The position
requires close cooperation with DB partners, especially in the Traveler Information (SR) unit.
The role also includes handling on-call duties to address any disruptions in operations, with the
expectation that external specialists can be contacted and respond quickly to resolve issues.
Services Required:
Solution Development:
o Develop solution architectures that align with the client’s business requirements and
optimize IT infrastructure and applications.
o Monitor the development of solutions to ensure they meet quality standards and are
delivered on time and within budget.
Collaboration:
o Work with development teams and stakeholders to ensure solutions align with business
requirements.
o Document and communicate the solution architecture using standard architectural
practices, patterns, and frameworks.
Risk Management:
o Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies.
On-Call Support:
o Provide on-call support outside regular working hours, with immediate availability to
resolve disruptions.
o Maintain direct communication with DB stakeholders during on-call duties.
Project Details:
Location:
o The primary place of performance is at the external specialist’s location, with the
possibility of on-site work as needed. Services outside Germany require prior approval,
and services outside the EU are not planned.
Duration and Workload:
o The term of service provision starts on November 1, 2024, and ends on December 31,
2029.
o The planned workload per year is 220 PT, subject to change based on annual business
requirements.
Technical Requirements:
Experience:
o Technical Product Ownership:
At least 2 years of experience as a technical product owner, managing at least
one application in the last 2 years.
o Agile Methods:
Experience with Scrum and Kanban, with at least 2 years of practical knowledge.
o ITIL 4:
Certified with practical experience in the field.
o Oracle Databases:
At least 2 years of experience in the operation, troubleshooting, and
management of Oracle databases, including installation of scripts, failover, and
indices.
o On-Call Service:
Experience in 24/7 on-call service for at least 2 years.
Skills:
o Language:
German, business fluent (B2 or better). Native speakers or those with a
language certificate are preferred.
o Railway Operations:
Knowledge of railway operations is advantageous but not mandatory.
